Bertha-May’s Apple Pie

An Extended-Family Recipe

This recipe is from my Aunt Julie's grandmother Bertha-May. It is delicious and easy, I hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup of Sugar
  • 4 tablespoon of Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 2 Frozen Pie Crusts
  • 1/3 Stick of Butter
  • 3 Yellow Delicious Apples (Also works well with 5-6 small Gala Apples)

Method:

Place one pie crust on a greased or sprayed pie pan

Mix together Sugar, Flour, and Cinnamon and sprinkle 1/2 of the mixture in the pie crust

Peel and slice your apples and place them in the pan. Make sure they pile up in the center slightly higher than the pan, about one inch.

Sprinkle the rest of Sugar, Flour, and Cinnamon mixture over the apples. The slice the stick of butter and place over the apples.

Cover with the other crust (upside-down, of course), pinch the edges, and rub the top with milk for a golden brown look.

Bake at 350 until brown, about an hour.
